We don’t get snow often in the South. When we do, we don’t know how to act. But my vacations have always run on the fringy side, so embarking on a six-hour drive at the onset of winter storm 2010 shouldn’t really surprise anybody.
It’s funny how holidays like Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas – and who can forget Mardi Gras – can draw people out from their burrows in climates that would certainly have prevented them from going to work (well, except for dedicated folks like me). The truth is, there’s something about special days that drive people to get together, even at great lengths and literal distances, to be with the folks who matter the most. Sharing these moments is really what makes them count.
Perhaps I’m more sentimental than most, but helping people honor the special occasions in their lives makes me feel good about what we do. We don’t create the experience, but we do our level best to make sure the products we print are a tribute to the special events they are meant to honor. Some moments – like weddings, births, graduations – only come once in a lifetime. The way you share them is up to you. We’re just here to help you make the journey.
